Understanding BCA & Australian Standards
All building work must comply with the requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA). The BCA Volume 1 and 2 are part of the National Construction Code series published by the Australian Building Codes Board.
Regular changes
The BCA changes each year, so it can take time to keep up to date with the requirements that apply to new homes and renovations. The BCA also makes reference to several Australian Standards and these also change from time to time.
